Mara Lindqvist

Founding Partner · Design Director

Mara spent seven years as a senior designer at Pentagram New York, where she led identity systems for cultural institutions, hospitality groups, and three separate James Beard–recognized restaurants. Before that she trained at Bergmans Förlag in Stockholm and at the Royal College of Art in London. At Spoiled Ratten she runs identity, type, and packaging — and is the partner who presents the work, end to end.

Tomás Reyes

Founding Partner · Creative Director

Tomás was an art director at Wieden+Kennedy Portland for six years, working across brand campaigns for Nike, Levi's, and a Grammy-nominated artist's merchandise line. Earlier he was a designer at Anagrama in Monterrey. At Spoiled Ratten he leads campaign systems, motion, and the studio's verbal identity — and sits in on every kickoff.

The Space

A converted ribbon factory in Bushwick where a five-person team and 24 vetted freelancers ship identities in 21 days.

The studio occupies Suite 2B at 84 Bogart Street — a 3,200-square-foot floor of a 1923 ribbon factory on the Brooklyn–Queens border. The bones are original: maple floors, tin ceilings, two freight elevators, and a wall of arched north-facing windows that Mara and Tomás chose the building for in 2019. The mezzanine holds a small type library, a risograph, and the only meeting table the studio owns.

Five full-time creatives work out of the room every day. A vetted network of twenty-four freelance specialists — photographers, motion designers, illustrators, fabricators, and production managers — plugs into sprints on a project basis. Every brand we ship is built by named humans, in a room you can visit, on a deadline we publish before kickoff.

That is the entire studio. There is no operations layer between the founder in the kickoff and the designer holding the final proof.
